This 10-day journey crosses Nicaragua from west to east, moving from the wild Pacific coast to a private lake island and onward to the Caribbean. Begin where jungle-backed shores and surf set the rhythm, pause in still waters beneath volcanic silhouettes, then settle into barefoot island life framed by reef and sky.

Day 1: Arrival on Nicaragua’s Pacific Coast
Arrive in Managua and travel south along the Pacific coast, leaving the city behind as the road gives way to forest and open land. Continue into a private reserve overlooking an undeveloped stretch of shoreline. Check in at Morgan’s Rock, where open-air villas sit above the beach with wide views of sea and jungle. Spend the afternoon settling in, swimming, or watching the light shift across the bay as evening approaches.
Day 2: Horses, forest trails & open coastline
This morning, set out on a guided horseback ride through the reserve, following coastal paths that move between forest and shore. Later, join a guided walk to learn about the surrounding ecosystems and conservation efforts. The afternoon is free to enjoy the property at your own pace. Kayaking, swimming, or quiet time in your plunge pool all fit easily into the day here.
Day 3: Pacific time, unstructured
Today is intentionally open. Walk the beach, swim in warm Pacific water, or find shade beneath the trees. Meals are taken when you wish, shaped by the day rather than a schedule. This is time to slow down and let the landscape set the pace.

Day 4: From coast to lake
Travel inland toward Lake Nicaragua, passing through changing landscapes as you move away from the coast. Board a small boat for the final approach to Jicaro Island Ecolodge, a private island set beneath the slopes of Mombacho Volcano. Check into your thatched casita and settle into lake life. As evening falls, the water turns still and the pace softens again.
Day 5: Granada, markets & cloud forest
Cross to the mainland for a full-day exploration of the region. Begin in Granada, where colorful streets and small markets invite wandering. Continue to Masaya’s artisan stalls before ascending into the cooler air of Mombacho Volcano for a guided cloud forest walk. Return to Jicaro by late afternoon for a relaxed evening and lakeside dinner.
Day 6: Crossing Nicaragua, west to east
Depart Lake Nicaragua and journey east across the country, combining ground, air, and boat transfers. Arrive on Little Corn Island, where there are no roads and the Caribbean sets the tone. Check in at Yemaya Reefs and settle into your beachfront villa. The rest of the day is free for swimming, walking the beach, or simply resting by the sea.

Day 7: Reef snorkeling & open water
Head out by traditional Miskito boat for a private snorkeling excursion just offshore. Drift above coral shallows and return at your own pace. The afternoon is unplanned. Swim, relax beneath palms, or linger over a long lunch. In the evening, enjoy a private beachfront dinner under the stars.
Day 8: Island days
Wake with the light and the sound of the sea. Spend the day as you choose. Snorkel from shore, paddle along the coast, or follow sandy paths across the island. Little Corn moves slowly, and it’s easy to fall into its pace.
Day 9: Caribbean calm
Your final full day is left open. One last swim, one last quiet afternoon, one last sunset over the water. Let the day unfold without plans.
Day 10: Departure
After breakfast, transfer by boat and flight back to Managua for your onward journey. You leave having crossed Nicaragua through forest, lake, and sea, carrying the quiet of three shores with you.
