Our inspiration

Born to roam, built to renew

At Osaviva (formerly ROAM Wild Travel), we craft bespoke journeys through Latin America and the Caribbean for those who seek authenticity, adventure, and a touch of the extraordinary.

Like howler monkeys scattering seeds through the jungle, spreading renewal wherever they roam, we believe in travel that restores both the traveler and the places they touch. Osaviva is a tribute to the transformative power of exploration, and the joy of slow, intentional discovery.

How it started

A journey rooted in connection

In 2005, Adrienne landed in Costa Rica and was instantly captivated by its vibrant spirit, from the lively streets to the warmth of its people. What began as a vacation soon evolved into a life-changing calling. Over the years, she returned again and again, deepening her connection by perfecting her Spanish, volunteering with local initiatives, and working at an ecolodge on the secluded Osa Peninsula. These immersive experiences revealed a side of Costa Rica few travelers ever see: raw, vibrant, and unforgettable.

By 2012, Adrienne began sharing the magic of Central America with others, planning yoga retreats and group journeys through Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. Her goal was simple: to help people discover the world through intimate, authentic, and deeply personal experiences.

Around the same time, Alvaro, born in Nicaragua and raised in Canada, felt a similar pull back to his roots. In 2014, he began organizing custom trips for friends and colleagues, inviting them to experience the untouched beauty of Nicaragua for themselves.

Coming together

A partnership guided by connection

In 2019, Adrienne and Alvaro combined their passions and perspectives to build something bigger. After years spent navigating demanding corporate careers, they shared a deep desire to create a different kind of travel: one that restores, inspires, and fits the rhythms of real life. Travel that doesn’t just check boxes, but reignites a childlike sense of awe about the world.

Today, Osaviva is powered by a close-knit team of five, each with firsthand knowledge of the lands we love throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. What brings us together is more than experience. It’s a shared devotion to cultural authenticity, hidden natural beauty, and travel that is both deeply personal and thoughtfully designed. Above all, we are committed to leaving every place better than we found it, through conscious choices and meaningful connection.

Adrienne

Co-Founder & Lead Travel Advisor

In 2019, Alvaro and I reimagined ROAM into a boutique travel company rooted in personal connection, regional expertise, and thoughtfully crafted experiences. We shifted from group travel to designing tailor-made journeys through Latin America and the Caribbean, each one reflecting a true sense of place and purpose. In 2025, we rebranded as Osaviva. When I’m not working, I’m exploring new places or drawing inspiration from home: hunting for vintage treasures, blending old and new in my space, hosting intimate dinners, or planning surprise getaways for the people I love. Travel, for me, is more than a profession. It’s a way of seeing and celebrating the world, and I find real joy in helping others do the same.

Alvaro

Co-Founder & Lead Travel Advisor

Born in Nicaragua, Alvaro's family immigrated to Canada when he was young, but the country will always be his home. Wanting to share his country's beauty with friends & colleagues, Alvaro started planning trips for friends in 2014. Alvaro is most passionate about creating unique & unforgettable travel experiences that leave his clients feeling fulfilled. He's a lover of coffee, and when not immersed in the details of planning clients' perfect escapes, he's an amateur photographer, out exploring and experiencing the world's most magical places, preferably at golden hour.

Marlena

Client Support

Born and raised in Belize, Marlena is the backbone of organization at Osaviva. With a gift for lists, logistics, and elegant efficiency, she ensures every detail is handled with care and precision. Her proactive approach and calm presence make her an invaluable force behind the scenes. A proud mother of two, Marlena balances work and family life with grace, finding joy in the little moments, whether it’s planning a school event or creating a cozy evening at home. When she has a quiet moment to herself, she loves getting lost in the pages of a good romance novel. Thoughtful, dependable, and quietly brilliant, Marlena keeps everything running smoothly.

Carmen

Client Support

Born and raised in beautiful Nicaragua, Carmen is passionate about people, and with over a decade of experience in the hospitality and service industry, she thrives on delivering exceptional customer experiences by truly understanding clients’ needs. Carmen approaches her work with enthusiasm and a personal touch. Outside of work, she’s a devoted pup mom to her three beloved dogs, who keep her life full of joy and adventure. When the weekend rolls around, you’ll often find Carmen on the dance floor, letting loose with a little salsa dancing!

Michael

Client Support

Michael was born and raised in Limón, Costa Rica, and brings with him a wealth of experience in hospitality and customer service. Warm, attentive, and detail-oriented, he has a natural gift for making people feel welcome and well cared for. After years of city life, Michael and his wife chose to embrace a quieter pace, relocating to the lush countryside where they now cultivate their own food and live in closer harmony with nature. On occasion, they open their home to travelers, offering a glimpse into the rhythms of rural Costa Rican life. His deep local knowledge, paired with a genuine passion for sharing the beauty of his country, makes him an invaluable part of the Osaviva team.
