Day by Day

Volcanic highlands

Arenal

Day 1: Arrival in Arenal
Land in San José and travel north through lush countryside to Arenal. At Nayara Tented Camp, settle into your family tent, complete with rainforest views and a private plunge pool. Spend the afternoon unwinding or spotting toucans from your terrace.

Day 2: Zipline & night walk
Start the day with a shared zipline adventure, soaring above the jungle canopy with sweeping views of the volcano. After dark, head out with a private naturalist for a guided night walk. Flashlights catch the shimmer of frogs, kinkajous, and glowing insects.

Day 3: Rappelling & slow afternoon
Gear up for a shared canyoning tour and rappel down rainforest waterfalls into jungle pools. In the afternoon, explore the camp’s suspension bridges or relax with a smoothie by the plunge pool.

Day 4: From volcano to coast
Travel southwest to Manuel Antonio. Settle into your family suite at Arenas del Mar, a beachfront eco-resort perched between rainforest and ocean. Spend the afternoon on the private beach or watching wildlife wander past.

Day 5: Mangrove kayaking & quiet waterways
Paddle through calm mangrove estuaries with a naturalist guide, gliding beneath tangled roots and low branches alive with birds, monkeys, and reptiles. The still waterways offer a slower rhythm and a close-up look at Costa Rica’s coastal ecosystems before returning to the resort for a relaxed afternoon by the pool or beach.Board a private catamaran for a sunset cruise along the coastline. As night falls, snorkel in bioluminescent waters, where plankton light up beneath your every movement.

Day 6: Wildlife & white sand
Explore Manuel Antonio National Park with a private guide, spotting monkeys, sloths, and colorful birds along the trails. Later, swim or relax on one of Costa Rica’s most scenic beaches, set within the park’s jungle-fringed shoreline.

Day 7: Departure from Manuel Antonio
Enjoy a final breakfast with a view before your private transfer returns you to San José.
