Day by Day

Wild shores & ancient giants

Santa Cruz Island

Day 1: Arrival in the Galápagos
Fly from mainland Ecuador to Baltra, then cross the narrow channel to Santa Cruz Island. Settle into Puerto Ayora and ease into island time with a coastal walk or quiet afternoon, where lava rock meets mangroves and the Pacific moves at an unhurried pace. That evening, enjoy a private dinner by the water, with soft light, ocean air, and the sound of waves close at hand.

Day 2: Highlands & living relics
Travel into Santa Cruz’s misty interior to visit Reserva El Chato, where giant tortoises roam freely through pasture and forest. Explore nearby lava tunnels carved by ancient flows, then return to the coast for a relaxed afternoon at leisure.

Day 3: Volcanic icons of Bartolomé
Cruise by boat to Bartolomé Island, one of the archipelago’s most striking landscapes. Walk across exposed lava for sweeping views of Pinnacle Rock, then snorkel in clear waters where penguins, turtles, and reef fish gather along the shore. Return to Santa Cruz as the light softens across the bay.

Day 4: Seabirds & shorelines of North Seymour
Journey to North Seymour Island, a wildlife-rich island known for nesting blue-footed boobies and frigate birds. Walk among land iguanas basking along the trail, then snorkel with sea lions and rays before returning to Santa Cruz in the late afternoon.

Day 5: White sand & island rhythm
A slower day on Santa Cruz. Walk the cactus-lined path to Tortuga Bay, where a wide sweep of white sand meets turquoise water and marine iguanas rest on lava rock. Alternatively, venture to the quieter shores of Garrapatero Beach for a more remote coastal escape. Swim, wander, or simply pause.
Where lava meets the sea

Isabela Island

Day 6: Crossing to Isabela
Travel by speedboat to Isabela Island, the largest and least developed of the Galápagos. The pace softens immediately. Spend the afternoon walking the beach or visiting the flamingo lagoon near town. That evening, share a private seaside dinner, with the silhouettes of volcanoes behind you and the ocean stretching quietly ahead.

Day 7: Craters & young earth
Explore the volcanic heart of Isabela with a guided hike across Sierra Negra Volcano. Stand at the edge of one of the world’s largest calderas, then continue to the raw lava fields of Volcán Chico, where the land still feels newly formed. Return to the coast for a restful afternoon.

Day 8: Beneath the lava arches
Venture by boat to Los Tuneles, a maze of lava bridges and calm channels shaped by fire and sea. Snorkel among turtles, rays, penguins, reef sharks, and sea lions in some of the most striking marine scenery in the archipelago.

Day 9: Tintoreras & final encounters
A short ride brings you to Las Tintoreras, where narrow lava channels shelter resting reef sharks and marine iguanas cling to black rock. Snorkel in shallow waters shared with penguins and turtles, then return for a quiet final evening on Isabela.

Day 10: Departure
Depart Isabela early, returning via Santa Cruz to Baltra Airport for onward flights. Leave the islands carrying the rhythm of the tides, the scale of volcanic landscapes, and moments shaped by both solitude and shared experience.
